Bone China RECENTLY RE-FORMULATED TO WORK EASIER Every since we started researching how to develop porcelain slips we have been in awe of the whiteness and strength of the English Bone China formula. These clay bodies are called Bone China because they actually contain bone ash. This addition of bone ash is what makes them so stable in firing and the reason why they are the main choice in china plates and dishes. These forumlas also have the reputation of not working below a cone 10 and for being very difficult to cast. We are happy to announce that our new Bone China slip is not like the others. It matures at a cone 6 and yet is still just as white as the others and very very stable. Even fancy china boxes will fire on their little bear claw like feet with absolutely no propping. The box shown is an example of this wonderful new slip. It will accept color and glaze like any other porcelain but is much whiter and casts pretty much the same as any other basic porcelain with the re-formulation. It may be cleaned like any other porcelain, either wet or dry and repairs quite easily. This new re-formulated slip is also now reclaimable and can be shipped in winter as can our other porcelain slips.
